Persistence of Vision Productions is a Toronto-based producer of popular critically-acclaimed documentary films.  Established in 1997, POV creates contemporary, provocative, high-end, 'point-of-view', non-fiction films with an international appeal. We’re passionate about documentaries which have complexity and passion, an individual voice and a moral dimension. We’re interested in films which offer up a commentary on the messiness of humanity in ways that shed new light on the human condition. POV’s films have premiered at major international film festivals before successful television broadcasts. POV’s documentaries include:

Debbie Melnyk

Co-Producer/Co-Director Debbie Melnyk worked as a television producer in England and Germany for six years producing for CBC, NBC, Worldwide Television News, and Reuters. Returning to North America she worked as a producer at CBC Newsworld before attending film school at New York University. She worked as a producer for Reuters TV, Worldwide Television News and Associated Press Television News for eight years in Los Angeles before transitioning into documentary filmmaking. 

Rick Caine

Co-Producer/Co-Director Rick Caine has an extensive, print, television and filmmaking background. With 15 years experience, he has worked as a producer, director and director of photography for CBC, CityTV, BBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Associated Press TV, Reuters TV, MSNBC,  Canal+ (France and Spain), Sat1 (Germany), IFC and Showtime (Australia and U.S.).  He has been a contributor on numerous series and magazine shows including: NBC’s Today Show, PBS’ Kratt’s Kreatures, Discovery Channel’s Flightline and Animal Xtreme and Citytv’s Movietelevision
